We highlight some of the latest stories, as well as two special interviews this week including with Mariam Veiszadeh and Senator Mehreen Faruqi. We start with some much-needed wins, noting that the news this week has been difficult. Mariam joins us to share more on the situation in Afghanistan, and what it means for women and girls -- and a passionate plea for Australia to increase its refugee intake (interview starts around 8 minutes). Mariam is a lawyer and community activist, and also the co chair of the Australian Muslim Women Centre for Human Rights. You can follow Mariam on Twitter here.Later, Senator Mehreen Faruqi joins us to talk about her new memoir, Too Migrant, Too Muslim, Too Loud. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
