Why did Jesus delay healing Lazarus- It was 4 days since Lazarus died. Jesus waited to come knowing Lazarus was dead for the purpose of God to be glorified. We learn from this action of Christ as believers. May our deaths be a witness for Christ. For the believer death is the open door to heaven.-In today's scripture we see Martha's complaint of Jesus coming so late. She felt if Jesus had been present earlier, her brother would still be alive. -She was limiting God in her response.--Martha knew theology, in that, she knew there was going to be a resurrection in the last day. But, she did not think Lazarus could be raised the fourth day of death. Jesus responds, -I am the resurrection and the life-. Jesus is the resurrection and life. We shall never die in believing Christ. For when we leave this earth, we will immediately be present with the Lord.-Today witness to who Jesus is.
