My partner talks about our long day of hunting with no harvested deer. My partner tells about the day that he shot his eight point deer with the 30-30. He also talks about a doe that he shot. We also talk about the myth about deer being afraid of other deer blood. The myth is that if you kill a deer, you will not see any other deer around that area for a few days. We talk about how that is impossible because of what we have witnessed. We also discuss how deer are also carnivores. @ 13:15-18:30 we start to talk about our new experimentation of shot placement on deer. We discuss how we have found that the best shot is in the chest at a 45 degree angle. The bullet passes through the heart and out of the opposite side of the deer. This shot takes out both the heart and the lungs. The shot can also be reversed. You can shoot through the lung and out the chest passing through the heart. We also talk about the neck being also a good place for a clean shot. 18:40-26:45 we talk about the deer I shot with a .223 m4 carbine with an EO-Tech optic. I used a 63 grain sierra SP bullet. The deer dropped just like it was shot with a .308. We also talk about a couple of major mistakes that who made during this hunt. One of us wore something that was scaring the deer. The other put something in the woods that also scared the deer. We thought that between these two problems we would not see anything. @ 26:50-28:50 we start to compare the DPMS Sporticle .308 to our AR-15 .223. We also talk about the specific load that was used during both hunts. @ 29:00-33:40 we start talking about how you should prepare for your upcoming hunt. You shouldn’t wait until the opening day of season to hunt. You would start preparing months ahead of time. Make sure that the herd has everything they need water, food and shelter. @33:50-35:30 we talk about food crops for deer. We share what worked for us and what didn’t. @40:00-46:20 we talk about the great benefit to harvesting deer for your family to survive on all year long. There are a huge amount of advantages to harvesting deer for your family. @46:30-48:50 we talk about the current plague on the deer called “BLUE Tongue”. Should they just be called Zombie deer? @51:00-52:15 we talk about preserving the herd. We give you information on doing your part to build your herd. You play a huge part as a hunter or sportsman to help the deer in any way you can. @52:20-56:12 we talk about a new scent method we are trying. This method is natural. We compare this option to commercial options that we have tried. @56:00-END We talk about the buck that my partner shot. The camera didn’t pick up the footage for some reason. There was a huge fog and mist that prevented the camera from catching it. We talk about the hunt for the next day. We also let you know that we will be posting a photo of the buck on the podcast page. We talk about future predator hunts. We will be hunting coyote and bobcat and possibly mountain lion. So we close out with talking about hog hunting and varmint hunting.
