On Monday, May 24, 2021 the New York State Assembly Education Committee met and there is no official record of the vote taking place in this recording on bill A472 (from 2021-22 NYS Legislative Session) the bill directs the State Education Department to verify that schools across New York are teaching the Holocaust. The Chairman makes a "Motion to Hold" the bill which would effectively kill it, and this vote is overridden. Finally, a motion is made to report the bill from the committee or advance it and the Chairman states the bill is advanced and the motion is not needed. The official record states that the "Reference" for this bill was changed from the Education Committee to the Ways & Means Committee - despite the bill having no financial impact. As of May 29, 2021, There is still no official record of this vote ever taking place.
