Our guest on today's Podcast is Kumar Gaurav, Founder and CEO of Cashaa. Cashaa is a blockchain-based p2p marketplace which enables international cash transfers at zero fee and real exchange rate, by matching together cash senders and receivers with cryptocurrency traders who pick up and deliver cash locally in exchange for selling and buying cryptocurrency internationally. In this way, Cashaa is bringing together the $240bn/year cash transfer industry with the $60bn/year cryptocurrency trading industry and creating a win-win situation. Cashaa launched at the end of January 2017 after several months of successful testing and according to the Company, the results were received with great enthusiasm from the crypto currency trading community. To date, Cashaa has built up a user base of 11000+ Crypto/BTC traders and facilitated over US$2 Million in remittances. Cashaa's approach to the remittance market is highly innovative and should it hit the spot with its target market, it could provide yet another compelling real world application for Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology. That said, the global remittance market is highly competitive and the incumbents have very deep pockets. So their strategy of dissecting individual niche/affinity remittance corridors shows intelligence and is probably the most effective way for a fledgling operator like Cashaa to fly beneath the radar whilst proving its model.
