Many clinicians have experienced the trauma of the opioid epidemic either in their professional or personal lives. As a result, tremendous efforts have gone into understanding the appropriate utilization of opioids for acute and chronic pain, as well as education into the addiction of opioids and the role clinicians play through prescribing habits. In this #BeyondClinicalMedicine podcast, Dr. Randal Dabbs, TeamHealth Co-Founder, President of Practice Development and Chair of the TeamHealth Substance Use Work Group is joined by Dr. Marilyn McLeod, System Medical Director for Baptist Health of Memphis.
