Shortly, as a result of mismanagement and rampant coruption, in 1975 Pertamina would be engulfed in crisis. The company got overwhelmed in multiple financial problems and then went bangkrupt. It was difficult to explain, if one is using know business parameters in how an oil company could fall into bankruptcy while the oil price was at its heights after the energy crisis of 1972-1973. There is no management and economic theories could explain this pehnomenon except if one look at it from the political economy perspectives.
