TV & Film
Though the simplistic storyline sags at points, the tale goes rapidly and the action never stops. Harriet Walter, who is tasked with delivering the film's final phrase, is frightening in conveying the impact of the "memento mori." The Latin phrase serves as a reminder that we all must die, and that monsters who commit genocide or skulk in the trees, as well as war heroes, are all just human, for better or worse. Nothing supernatural could be as frightening as some of the atrocities that humans are capable of, as history has repeatedly demonstrated, practically daring us to repeat it.
