This week Nate Heath of the NotNerd podcast phones it in to discuss the 2012 number one summer smash "Call Me Maybe" by Canadian pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen. Working her way through the folk music scene of rural British Columbia, Jepsen found herself as a runner up on Canadian Idol. She later released "Call Me Maybe" with little response from fans and critics, but when a fellow Canadian pop superstar endorsed the track via Twitter nearly a year later, her music career exploded overnight.
