Indigenous peoples have always carried the knowledge necessary to heal. When our people heal, our families heal, our communities heal and our land will heal. You cannot have one without the other. If you believed racism was obsolete in Canada (like I naively did) this is a MUST WATCH. In this episode you'll learn about our special guest; Elaine Alec's incredible journey through trauma and suicide into incredible self-love. She is creating her legacy, not only as a mother, but as an author and woman dedicated to spreading healing love everywhere she goes. Elaine Alec from the Syilx (Okanagan) Nation and Secwepemc (Shuswap) Nation. Elaine is a member of the Penticton Indian Band. Elaine has spent over twenty years in over 100 communities across Canada to promote healing and wellness with Indigenous knowledge. In 2008 she led a four-year process in her community to create a Comprehensive Community Plan for the Penticton Indian Band that gained national recognition in Canada.
