Just this past Tuesday the Boston Celtics had clinched their spot in the NBA Playoffs becoming the 3rd team in the Eastern Conference to do so. 24 hours later Wednesday night news broke that the NBA had made the decision to suspend the rest of the 2020 Regular Season until further notice after news broke that Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz had tested positive for the coronavirus. So now the NBA Season is in limble and everyone is wondering what will happen. Will the season start up again in a certain amount of time? Or will the league opt to cancel the rest of the season and leave teams and fans waiting until October of 2020? This situation now has major questions going on for the league and its fans. From how did Rudy Gobert get the disease and did he potentially give it to someone else? The Celtics played Gobert and the Jazz in Boston just a few days before the news broke of his infection? What about the final 18 games of the season? The Celtics are in a 3 team fight with the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat for the 2nd seed. Will the league if they choose to restart the season at some point let the final 18 games or so left this season be played out or will they go straight to the playoffs leaving the standings the way they are? Is there really anyway the league can go the route of doing the rest of the season without putting the players, coaches and its officials in danger?
