Itoro Bassey (Udofia) is a writer, blogger, cultural worker, and educator. In her writing, Itoro tells stories that showcase strong female protagonists defying social conventions. Itoro is currently working on her first novel, The Soil Below and is the author of Running. Her Short Story, To the Children Growing Up in the Aftermath of their Parents War received the 2017 Glimmer Train Very Short Fiction Award. Itoro has a BA in African American Studies and Theatre from Smith College and an MA in International Education and Development from the Marlboro Graduate Institute.
