Timing and consistency are some of the most important things to consider when it comes to creating your podcast, but there aren’t one-size-fits-all answers for “How long should a podcast be?” or “When should I release my podcast?” Sorry! But we do have a lot of tips and ideas for you to consider when answering those questions for your podcast and your audience: When you’re consistent, your listeners become accustomed to making you a part of their schedules. If you have trouble with consistency or you decide to change the frequency of posting new episodes, it’s important to let your audience know. Remember, they are expecting you! Want a quick engagement post for your business’ or podcast’s Facebook group? Ask your audience what they do while listening to your podcast! You can use that information to help determine an ideal length and best time to release your episodes. You also want to take into consideration what your podcast is about when it comes to releasing an episode. A movie podcast would probably do better coming out later in the week when new movies are released, for example. But if your content is evergreen or not contingent on the timeliness of the information, don’t overcomplicate things. Pick a day (like we did while recording the episode!) and stick to it! Be aware not everyone has unlimited data and can’t always stream your show where they are. Releasing an episode before most people leave for work in the morning is a great way to be the first thing people pick when choosing which podcast to listen to.
