Solomon’s Blessing Bible Basis: 1 Kings 8:54-61 Bible Truth: Solomon blesses God’s people and exhorts them to continue obeying God. Memory Verse: 1 Kings 8:57-58 Lesson AIM: By the end of this lesson, we will: EXAMINE Solomon’s prayer of dedication; AFFIRM God’s continued faithfulness to His people; and COMMIT ourselves to obey God’s commands. Background Scriptures: 1 Kings 8:54-66  –  Read and incorporate the insights gained from the Background Scriptures into your study of the lesson. This week's lesson is of Solomon's benediction to the Israelites after his prayer. He expressed his praise to God for his blessings to Israel. He asked God to continue to less Israel and himself as king. Solomon told the Israelites that God has always kept his promises to his people and that He would keep his promises to them. The blessings and privileges the Lord graciously provides require obedience on the part of his people. Read the main thought again verse 58. We must walk in God's ways. Solomon spoke of the desire that Israel will be a witness to all other nations of the world. We must honor God with praise and thanksgiving. Our lifestyles should be consistent in His ways, will and word. Pastor Micheal Richard, Bethel Baptist Church, Tatums, Oklahoma
