You can listen to the interview here.A interview with Malaysian Progressives in Australia member Jason Wong about the recent 'backdoor coup' against the progressive coalition government in Malaysia. Wong says that Malay nationalist political forces are behind the coup and the response from the left has been weak and sporadic, a reflection of the balance of class forces and lack of a mass organised left wing party in Malaysia. Some progressive NGOs are calling for a vote of no confidence against the new government when parliament resumes on May 11 or 18, however it is unclear that such a vote would succeed, and even it if did this may trigger new elections which result in a boost to the nationalist vote.
