The CDC is now pleading with Americans do not travel and do not gather for Thanksgiving with people outside of your household. Not family…household. They are combatting pandemic fatigue; people getting tired of masks and other precautions. The CDC believes around 40% of people who are infected don’t have obvious symptoms but can still spread the virus.California is imposing an overnight curfew for 94% of its residents from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Saturday. However, the virus must know not to hurt anyone in the movie business, because they have been made specially exempt. The state has deemed them essential workers.  Mexico passed the 100,000 mark in COVID-19 deaths yesterday, becoming only the fourth country — behind the United States, Brazil and India — to do so. That comes after Mexico said it topped 1 million cases. Officials actually think that number is much higher due to low levels of testing.The regional head of the World Health Organization said one person is dying from coronavirus every 17 seconds in Europe. ICU’s in France have been at 95%-plus capacity for 10 days and those in Switzerland are at full capacity.The longer the pandemic goes on, the more you think you’ve heard it all. But top officials at a Tyson Foods plant in Waterloo, IA were suspended without pay. The reason? It’s alleged they were betting on how many of their workers would get infected. The answer, by the way, was more than 1,000 of the 2,800 workers, at least six of whom died. The top 10 counties with the highest number of recent cases per capita according to The New York Times: Crowley, CO. Lee, KY. Rawlins, KS. Stutsman, ND. Foster, ND. Johnson, NE. Fallon, MT. Jones, IA. Walsh, ND. And Pierce, ND.There are now 4,568,891 active cases in the United States. The current Top 10 states by number of active cases: California, Illinois, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Virginia, Michigan overtakes Maryland, then Georgia. The five states with the most daily new cases per capita over 7 days are North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wyoming.The reproduction rate is currently highest in Vermont, Washington, New Hampshire, New York, and Ohio. There is one state with a reproduction rate below 1 and that is Mississippi.There’ve been a total 252,514 deaths in the US reported as COVID-related, with a current national fatality rate of 2.19%.The states with the most new deaths reported as COVID-related: Texas 226. Illinois 180. Michigan 144. Pennsylvania 104. California 97. Wisconsin 83. Tennessee 80. Florida and Colorado 79. And Minnesota and Alabama 72. Globally, there are now more than 16 million active cases, at 16,145,453There are 598,877 new cases around the world in the last 24 hours against a high of 656,099 on November 12. The five countries with the most new cases: the United States 192,186. India 46,182. Italy 36,176. Brazil 35,686. And Poland 23,975. There have now been 1,359,120 deaths worldwide.
