Society & Culture

In this episode of the CultureRich Podcast, host Joan Wheeler talks with Scott Rawson, the founder, trainer, and director of Baraboo's Improv Institute. Scott tells how the group developed as an offshoot of CAB Theatre, also known as the Creative Alliance of Baraboo. (In the episode photo, taken at the Baraboo Public Library in January 2019, Scott is the one in the white t-shirt with his back to the audience.) Scott discusses how the improv troupe practices and performs. Improv Institute works in a variety of unexpected venues, including a bed and breakfast, and in a training capacity with corporations, teaching teams how to use improv techniques to be more productive. Through its connection to the non-profit CAB Theatre, Improve Institute welcomes donations to help with their expenses.
