In this first part of a two part show, I talk with Chad Stewart and Kelly Straka of the Michigan DNR about wildlife management in the beautiful state of Michigan. Their jobs are challenged by the diversity of habitats in the state as well as the threats of chronic wasting disease and bovine tuberculosis. Part I focuses on Chad's and Kelly's outdoors and educational backgrounds and the management of the state's big game animals, including an impressive elk population.
