With his diverse experience of over 26 years in Manufacturing, Subhash mentions that the Digital Transformation in the Manufacturing industry today focuses on connected enterprise, connected automobile and connected consumers. The digital forces which have been defined over the years are at confluence now and are taking shape in the form of shared mobility, connected equipment in industrial space, connected mining, connected agriculture etc., and would be defining the growth and transformation journey in the manufacturing industry in the time to come. At the same time, Connected – is breaking barriers by enabling growth. Anand, with his vast experience in Aero and Process, mentions that Aero is a unique segment with nearly 10 years long delivery backlogs for commercial airplanes. Safety and Security are always the highest priority in this segment and After Market is the next go to business in Aerospace. Coming to the Process segment he mentions, companies in this segment are grappling with various challenges like variable demand and high input prices. These companies are trying to extract value through mergers and acquisitions. Looking at the future trends for next four to five years, change is clearly visible across industries. The objective is to create value for the end consumers. The Business to Consumer (B2C) industries are adapting to the change at an aggressive rate and are able to leverage latest technologies like cloud, analytics, automation to create differentiated value for their consumers. The manufacturers are also adapting to match this pace of change. Moreover, there are digital and smart products, there is Digital in operations like IoT, and enterprises would use technologies like Blockchain to create a connected workspace. Further in enterprises, the technologies like Machine first delivery model, where decision can be made by machine by developing and using Artificial Intelligence would take over.
