Today pastor Mike looks at grief and how grief can steal our seat at the table. He looks in depth at Psalms 23, and gives many scriptures to help us in our time of sorrow. Here is a list of scriptures to help during our walk through the Valley. John 16:22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.Revelation 21:4  "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”Romans 8:18  I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.Psalms 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.Matthew 11:28-30  28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”Psalms 147: 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalms 73:26  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”Support the show (https://www.facebook.com/rvbcknox/?tn-str=k*F)
