Deadtime Storiez

Comedy

Whew - this turned into one long episode. And that's because it's jam-packed with storiez!! We got banter, we got serial killers from Russia, and we have a current true crime --- classic Deadtime Storiez over here. Stephanie starts off with the tale of the Russian Chessboard Killer, Alexander Pichushkin. Though he swears he has the highest number of fatalities, he still only comes in second after his trials --- but no matter what he was a monster. And, his story adds to our list of "reasons to never visit Russia" Sarah finishes the episode with the current missing persons case of Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito. A 22-year old who went missing after her boyfriend (fiance?) returned to his parents house in her van, without her, after being on a cross country trip just the two of them. This case has garnered national media attention, but we want to highlight the fact that this has attracted the spotlight partly because Gabby is a young, attractive, white female. There are far more cases of missing persons of color in the same area that have had little, to no, media attention. We'd like to use this time to direct you to resources where you can learn more about how you can help shed light, and help find our missing indigenous women and women of color. MMIW - Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Movement https://mmiwusa.org/ ***UPDATE*** There is a short update at the end of this episode for Gabby's case. While we want to acknowledge Gabby, and mourn the loss of a human being; please remember that there are many more women and children missing, and take some time to research how you can help.
