In this episode, Jason speaks to Emadi Okwuosa, a recent 2020 graduate from the University of South Florida and a Civil Rights Activist, Civic Leader, and Champion for Social Justice and Reform.  Emadi is a part of the new movement for change that we are witnessing across the United States and around the world which calls for an end to racism, police brutality, hatred, and discrimination.  Jason met Emadi recently during a peaceful protest that Emadi organized in the city of Tampa, Florida.    The Tampa Police Department (TPD) arrested Emadi during one of these recent protests, and TPD alleges that Emadi was using a bullhorn “to incite a riot," which is a Felony under Florida Law.  A petition has been circulated on Change.Org to demand that these charges be dropped immeidately, since Emadi was merely exercising his Constitutional Right to tackle the problem of systemic racism as a citizen.   This petition has electified an outpouring of support for Emadi online!   In a few days time, Change.Org has gathered almost 57,000 signatures on Emadi's behalf.   A copy of the Petition can be found online at:  https://www.change.org/p/tampa-mayor-jane-castor-demand-emadi-okwuosa-s-charges-get-dropped.   I encourage each member of our audience to review and sign this Petition.   Even though it is 2020, if we close our eyes and review this information critically, we might feel like it's 50 years ago.  Progress has been hampered and change is needed NOW.  Join us as we discuss the importance of this Movement and its impact on the world today.
