Uplift Your Life: Nourishment of the Spirit

Religion & Spirituality

A new interest in scientifically studying highly sensitive people is emerging in respected institutions such as Stanford and Harvard. Fully 20% of the world population has a genetically inherited trait of high sensitivity. My guest has identified four types: empaths, intuitives, visionaries, and expressives. Being highly sensitive can be challenging in a world that mostly disrespects these abilities and assumes that sensitives are strange or crazy. Because there has been such a stigma around being a sensitive, there has been minimal information about what these gifts are, how to develop them, and how to protect ourselves from becoming overwhelmed with the pain or anxiety that we pick up from others. This is changing now, and sensitives are beginning to understand themselves better. My guest has a four-week plan to help sensitives heal from the trauma affecting their sensory processing and employ coping skills to manage their intense emotions and sensations. As Marchesani writes, “Living with spiritual awareness as a highly sensitive person is not only possible, it's enlightening. We live less for ourselves and more for humanity….We must help build a world where all humans are treated as equals and can live without fear.” Please join us Thursday to learn how sensitives can decrease stress and anxiety, experience more accurate intuition, maintain healthy relationships, and create innovative solutions by using their gifts.
