Society & Culture

As folks gear up to gather with family, friends, or yourself in gratitude, I brought you a treat you didn't even know you were hoping to receive: my ate (ah-tay) or big sister, C.C. Stamm. She is my opposite in many ways but very much part of my soul in every way possible. Listen to her discuss the three guiding principles of living and relationships through the lens of someone who is more analytical, yet still approaches relationships with just as much intention.  Yes, we also discuss my desperate attempt to make more "pies" with my time. Let me know which team you're on.  P.S. November is Native American Heritage Month and I live on land that belongs to Piscataway folks as well as others over time, I'm sure. Find out who's land you're on by doing thoughtful research, and here's a helpful start from community members who are working on it: https://native-land.ca/.  The U.S. history behind Thanksgiving is tied to a horrific past to the Native American community; being in community with Native and indigenous folks over time has taught me to gather and center in gratitude to those who came before us this time of year and to those who I am in community with now. BASICALLY this is my extra reminder to support the Native American and indigenous members of your community always and especially this time of year because I just can't help myself! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/better-out-loud/support
