Kiara Gets Drunk and Talks About Music

Comedy

“All that glitters is gold, only shooting stars break the mold.” In Episode 30, Kiara welcomes back infamous Gen Z-er Ethan to help her peel back the many layers of the soundtrack of the smash hit movie, Shrek (2001), over a couple aptly-named Shrek cocktails. With their social bubble tightly secured, Kiara and Ethan take advantage of a rare in-person session to discuss their feelings on this award-winning animated film and the perfectly curated mix of songs that pump serotonin straight into their brains. And while we get majorly sidetracked by Guy Fieri, “that one time at improv camp”, and our horrible Shrek impressions, we still make time to praise the poeticism of Leonard Cohen, the fearlessness of Joan Jett, and the meme-worthiness of Smash Mouth, all the while commenting on how these artists and songs supplemented the film’s underlying message and introduced a host of iconic musicians to an entirely new generation. It’s not easy being green.
