I’m sure that we are all aware of the now-infamous Gillette advert that attempted to virtue signal the company towards higher profits by attacking and condemning its primary consumer base, not a great strategy. All jokes aside, (I mean I can’t even grow a beard, damn you genetics.) Toxic masculinity is a term that we often hear people throw around as they attempt to vilify things about men that they do not agree with. I believe that there is a case to be made for toxic behaviours that some men exude to, “Be a man.” However, the mainstream media’s take on it lacks substance and tries to group all forms of masculinity as toxic which is not the case.
