Today we talk to Kent Carlson, a retired defenseman from the NHL.  Drafted in 1982 by the Montreal Canadiens 2nd rd, 11th pk (32nd overall) , he also played for the St. Louis Blues and the Washington Capitals.  Carlson overcame serious injuries to his arm and back, undergoing spinal fusion surgery in 1986, before returning to professional hockey for three more years. Carlson was the fist American born player to captain the Montreal Canadians top farm club the Sherbrooke Beavers guiding them to the AHL’ S Calder Cup in the 1984-85 season.
