A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor David Singh.The Resurrection is a victory over all evil. How is this victory of Jesus over sin, sickness, and death noticeable in us? It is the work of God’s goodness gaining more and more authority over our lives. So evil is clearly in retreat, and we become healthier and more alive in Him. In the past we were overcome with sin. Now we are overcome with God’s goodness. This is how God shares his victory with us.After the Resurrection Jesus breathes into us the Holy Spirit. This is the sharing of his victory with us. This is what brings peace. We are no more enemies. We are restored. Jesus gives us this new capacity in the Spirit to live and breathe the very presence of God. This is not only necessary, it is life giving, both for us personally and for the church. This is the gospel, the good news.As you mature in your faith are you going to sleep with an increasing sense of peace because it is the Spirit that rules over you now and not your old nature? You live in goodness not in sin and rebellion. Psalm 34 is a prophetic proclamation and an invitation: “ Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).Let your life be a testimony to the increasing goodness of God!
