A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor David Singh.This is what God told Israel through Moses: “Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it" (Deut. 10:14). This Sunday is July 4th and it is a time to celebrate our nation, its people, the prosperity, the freedom, and many other advantages which we as Americans enjoy. Come prepared to thank God and be grateful. Without gratefulness we can become entitled. We are a privileged people, and every generation needs to be more and more grateful for God’s goodness to us.We are American simply because God chose for us to be born in this country or because God brought us to this country. We cannot take this for granted. We being American is God’s great act of grace. Whether we are born here or whether we came and settled here, not one of us is entitled to this level of privilege. As American Christians we are called to live in such a way that God will be pleased to fulfill his promises to his chosen people even in this land. He blesses us so that we can become a blessing. In order to be a blessing and to live in his promise, we need to be more grateful, faithful, and humble in how we enjoy what he has given us. Come and be grateful!
