Miscellaneous

It’s a frosty Friday afternoon here in Edmonton but the good news is that we've got a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to warm up your inside feelings as you head into the weekend. This week, we looked at the Oilers' heater, Mike Smith's hot start, and spoke to former NHLer Shayne Corson about what's going on around the National Hockey League. To kick off this week's podcast, we got start with the Sherwood Ford Giant Question which looked at which Oiler we would name as the team's MVP for the month of February if we took Connor and Leon out of the equation. Is it Jesse Puljujarvi who stepped up on the first line since getting the call? Is it Mike Smith who has looked incredible since coming back from injury? Someone else? Changing gears, we looked at Zack Kassian and where he will fit in the lineup when he's finally healthy again. Seeing as none of us had a really good answer for the question, Dave Tippett will have some very interesting decisions to make when it comes to his line combos going forward. From there, we were thrilled to welcome former Oiler, Shayne Corson, to the podcast to talk about the North Division and what it must be like to play the same teams over and over again. Corson also gave his thoughts on fighting in hockey and whether or not the game has changed for the worse now that the self-policing has stopped.
