Miscellaneous

Two things happened on the same day which illustrates so very well the systemic issues the United States legal system has when it comes to women. 1) Bill Cosby was released from prison because he incriminated himself during depositions for a civil suit where he was promised immunity. Why did it take him admitting what happened to even get a conviction? Why wasn't the testimony of the victim along with corroborating evidence enough? 2) Britney Spears remains under the controlling thumb of a cabal of people who force her to work, use birth control, control what she eats...all because she shaved her head 13 years ago. Meanwhile plenty of male performers have done more egregious things and no one ever considered a decade long conservatorship.   Research https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/30/nyregion/trump-organization-cfo-allen-weisselberg.html https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/30/business/media/nikole-hannah-jones-unc-tenure.html https://twitter.com/greg_doucette/status/1408994536899158016https://www.bustle.com/articles/180638-britney-spears-is-absolutely-a-feminist-issue https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/06/30/shannon-keeler-ian-cleary-rape-gettysburg/ https://www.courts.ca.gov/selfhelp-conservatorship.htm https://apnews.com/article/education-0dd9b05c9bd3659acb78d79f91a4fef1 https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/culture/a36824537/britney-spears-protect-womens-rights/ https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/30/arts/television/bill-cosby-release-conviction.html
