Food and media have a complicated relationship. Some may argue that it's a toxic relationship. In this episode, I talk to food anthropologist Arlette Martinez about how social media and food publications influence where and what we eat. About Arlette Martinez After a decade of working in high-end kitchens, Arlette Martinez hung up her chef's hat to study and research food culture and trends. She holds a BA from Concordia University and an MA from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Arlette's current work studies social media’s impact on food tourism and the production of cultural discourses surrounding food and travel. Arlette is also a member of the Canadian Association for the Study of Food. Find the show notes and more information about our community on . The jingle, Funny Polka, is from HookSounds.
