* Attention all Texas voters abroad! * On March 3, 2020, the Lone Star State will hold its Democratic primary. Among the several candidates battling it out to be the Democratic nominee is Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez (https://cristinafortexas.com/), the daughter of a Mexican immigrant and an experienced community activist looking to unseat the incumbent Republican senator. Mark your calendars! Cristina engaged in a bilingual discussion with us on how her bilingual/bicultural experience growing up has led her to understand the diverse communities of Texas, how more needs to be done to take care of our nation's veterans, and how her experience in working with the younger Latinx generation has motivated thousands of Texans to register to vote. Have a listen to our interview with Cristina to hear more of her thoughts on the issues. And although we're still months out from this important race, we encourage all Texans living abroad to become educated on the several candidates and to make sure they request their absentee ballots in a timely manner (https://www.votefromabroad.org/).   "Climate change was a primary reason for why I decided to run. No state, in my mind, has more to gain or lose on tackling climate change than Texas." -- Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez, candidate for U.S. Senate from Texas. *Note: As the Democrats Abroad Hispanic Caucus is part of the Democratic Party, it does not formally endorse a candidate before a Democratic primary has occurred when there is more than one Democratic candidate running for the same seat. As such, we have invited all Democratic candidates running for this U.S. Senate seat to speak with us on our podcast to inform Texas' absentee voters about themselves and their campaigns. Not all candidates have responded to the invitation. We are grateful to hear directly from Ms. Tzintzún Ramirez and the other Democratic candidates who have accepted our invitation. Hispanic Caucus participants in this episode: Sam Stone (Mexico) and Michael Ramos (Australia). Postcast music provided by Carlos Colao (Spain).
