Going through the machine and writing songs that weren't authentic didn't sit well with Hannah Bethel. So she decided to do things a little differently and do what's best for her. This eventually led to winning first place in the Americana division of the International Songwriting Competition. It wasn't until she realized to be of service of art as opposed to self-fulfillment that things started gaining momentum.
