Today, pastor Ed will be preaching from Ecclesiastes 2:12-26. Solomon's transition to consider whether the dutiful person is better off than the fool also proves that there is no good substitute for God. Worldly wisdom certainly has some temporal advantages over folly. It is preferable to understand how to cope in this perplexing world. Balancing your checkbook and changing the oil in your car are prudent activities. So are obeying the laws of the land. But worldly wisdom clearly has its limitations, as we see in verse 14. All our striving apart from God are marked by futility.
