How To Overcome (Disappointment, Depression & Fear) Psalm 27:13-14 New King James Version 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! Never stop hoping Proverbs 13:12 NKJV 12Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. Learn to wait on the Lord Psalm 40:1-11 I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. 2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. 3 He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord. 4  Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. 5 Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. Learn to recount all that God has done with gratitude in your heart. Learn to have faith over fear Hebrews 11:1 11 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. Faith is expecting God to move. Fear is expecting the devil to move. Deal with fear as a spirit and not as an emotion. 2 Timothy 1:7 The Passion Translation 7 For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control. Expose the devil and expose fear. Why does the spirit of fear come? To control. To keep you from achieving your God-given purpose. 1 Peter 5:8 New King James Version 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. John 10:10 NIV 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Learn to bind & loose Bind the spirit of fear and loose the peace of God. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. Matthew 16:19 New King James Version 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Know that God wants you to overcome. John 16:33 New King James Version 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 New King James Version 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. What you focus on is what you magnify. Job 3:25 NKJV For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me. Psalm 34:1-3l NKJV I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3  Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. Forced perspective is a technique which employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. It manipulates human visual perception through the use of scaled objects and the correlation between them and the vantage point of the spectator. “I've had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.” ― Mark Twain Learn to Trust God’s Word God sent his word and healed their disease. Ps 107:20 Hebrews 4:12 New King James Version 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [c]instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Learn to Take Thoughts Captive 2 Cor 10: 3-5 NIV 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Learn to overcome the darkness through fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus. 1 John 1:5-7 5This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. Hebrews 10:19-25 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness[f] to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Learn the anointing that is upon you. The anointing Jesus Christ. Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV 1“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” Learn the leading of the Holy Spirit Luke 14:26-27 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Psalm 91  TPT When you abide under the shadow of Shaddai,[a]     you are hidden[b] in the strength of God Most High. 2  He’s the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me,     the only God for me, and my great confidence. 3  He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy,[c]     and he will protect you from false accusation     and any deadly curse.[d] 4  His massive arms[e] are wrapped around you, protecting you.     You can run under his covering of majesty and hide.     His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm. 5  You will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night     nor have to fear a spirit of darkness coming against you. 6  Don’t fear a thing!     Whether by night or by day, demonic danger will not trouble you,[f]     nor will the powers of evil be launched against you. 7  Even in a time of disaster, with thousands and thousands being killed,     you will remain unscathed and unharmed. 8  You will be a spectator as the wicked perish in judgment,     for they will be paid back for what they have done! 9–10  When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High,     our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.     How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us? 11  God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go,     defending you from all harm. 12  If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you     and keep you from stumbling. 13  You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness,[g]     trampling every one of them beneath your feet! 14  For here is what the Lord has spoken to me:     “Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name,     I will greatly protect you. 15  I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,     and you will feel my presence     in your time of trouble.     I will deliver you and bring you honor. 16  I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you.     For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”
