Dr. Heather Sandison is our guest in this episode. With a focus on neurocognitive medicine and neurohacking, Dr. Sandison discusses how a naturopath facilitates holistic health and why this matters. We learn what it’s like to be a medical professional making new motherhood work while simultaneously launching a new therapeutic venture. And we get an inside peek at what self-care looks like (hint: it includes the ocean). Dr. Sandison is the founder and medical director of North County Natural Medicine and co-founder and CEO of Marama.  At North County Natural Medicine Dr. Sandison focuses her clinical work on patients experiencing complex chronic disease that affects brain function. Her expertise is in neurocognitive medicine and neurohacking. She has trained with Dr. Dale Bredesen MD, Dr. Neil Nathan, MD, Dr. Bill Walsh, PhD and Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, MD in addition to regularly attending and speaking at integrative medicine conferences. Dr. Sandison created Marama to support patients struggling with cognitive decline. She is the mother of an 11 month old baby girl and still finds time to get outside for hikes and time at the beach.  Resources: Collective Insights podcast Marama Experience North County Natural Medicine   Get your FREE GUIDE to a Kickass Morning Ritual  Join the conversation on Instagram or Facebook Be sure you are subscribed to this podcast to automatically receive your episodes: iTunes Google Play Spotify YouTube www.valleyandbeach.com Please note, the advice and opinions in the Valley + Beach: Grains of Goodness podcast is intended for informational purposes only and should not be taken as medical care or advice.
