Season 3, Episode 5:  Today is the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I thought we’d chat with Drew Edwards, Executive Director of Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC). BABC supports Early Detection Education Programs, Research, and Legislative efforts by selling recycled, high end wedding dresses to brides-to-be looking for an upscale wedding dress, but at a fraction of the cost. Two key takeaways? If you’re recently married, PLEASE donate your wedding dress right after your wedding! Go Marie Kondo, and get rid of it! Don’t wait, do good now or else it might be too late! BABC only accepts wedding dresses within four years of wear. Your dress is out of style if you wait ten years to donate! Second, if you’re looking to buy a wedding dress, please buy a recycled dress from BABC! It doesn’t need to be brand new to be new to you. Buying your dress from BABC could save a life! And, in the later part of the podcast, the topic is a bit difficult, but necessary. Nathan and I discuss how to plan a wedding when a close family member is seriously ill. Yes, this feels uncomfortable. Yes, this sucks and it’s hard. However, we hope that by listening, we can help you deal with the enormity of the situation with grace, while at the same time, considering your needs/desires around your wedding.
