“It’s Hammer Time,” the popular Facebook Live and YouTube show at MCPLive.TV will host a July 3, 2020, 12 noon, show with Precinct 2 Montgomery County Constable Gene DeForest, who is running for re-election on July 14, 2020, Republican Runoff Election. The talented Reagan Reed, Vice Chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party, will continue to host the show. DeForest has stood alongside conservatives politically for many decades. He stood up to the cronyism of former Montgomery County Judge Craig Doyal and even earned membership on Doyal’s political “Hit List.” DeForest was a Conroe Police Officer for approximately twenty years before he became the Constable of Precinct 2, a position DeForest has held since January 1, 2001. DeForest has been a certified peace officer for 35 years. DeForest has served Constable Precinct 2, which includes the City of Conroe, very well. Precinct 2 is the main hub for civil process service in Montgomery County. Constable DeForest developed a reserve unit along with a Mounted Posse Division of volunteers. Unlike many other southeast Texas constables, DeForest has chosen to permit the Sheriff’s Office to do its job with law enforcement while not duplicating that function extensively and expensively. Married to his wife for 41 years, with a daughter and two grandchildren, DeForest is a Marine Corps veteran. He’s a Life Member of the 100 Club, a Life Member of the Montgomery County Fair Association, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a longtime and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Constable DeForest holds a Master Peace Officers Certificate, with over 3000 hours of education. He also obtained 18 hours of College in Law Enforcement at Del Mar College. While he worked at Conroe Police Department, DeForest earned two commendations as Officer of the Year and Detective of the Year
