John 11:5-6 When Jesus heard that Lazarus was ill, “he stayed two days longer in the place where he was” (John 11:6). Instead of going to Lazarus immediately, Jesus waited. Why did Jesus wait? John 11:5 tells us it was because of love. Reading John 11:5 and John 11:6 together, we see that it was because of his great love for Lazarus that Jesus waited to help Lazarus. This is how God works. God’s timing is different from our timing.
