Light Watkins is a Bestselling author, an accomplished meditation teacher, and the inspirational keynote and workshop leader who founded The Shine Movement, a sober social event featuring meditation, live music, an inspirational talk, and philanthropy that spotlights people who’ve overcome the odds to start movements for social good held in the US and UK. Light has been teaching meditation since 2003 and has delivered over 500 wellness-themed talks around the globe since 2007. Before pursuing his profession in wellness, he worked in the field of advertising and modeled for about 7 years until he felt a deep inner calling to become a meditation teacher and got the opportunity to attend training in India. With a revitalized approach to his practice, Light started his journey to teaching and hosting international retreats, which catapulted him to give a TEDx talk on meditation in 2015 that garnered nearly a million views. During this time, he published his first book, The Inner Gym. With the wellness space growing into a multi-billion dollar industry, he was recognized as one of the most relatable teachers in the meditation space leading a spike in his collaborations, speaking, and writing engagements. Around the time The Shine Movement was founded in 2018, he’s also released his second book, Bliss More, which was inspired when joining the Minimalism Movement. He got rid of all his possessions that didn’t fit into a carry-on bag and became a digital nomad.Despite the hardships brought about by the pandemic, Light continued on his mission to spread inspiration by launching his weekly podcast, At the End of the Tunnel, and finish the writing of his third book - Knowing Where to Look, which’s now available for pre-order in all major bookstores. Find out more and reach out to Light Watkins through the following links: Website - https://www.lightwatkins.com/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/lightwatkins/Please leave a five-star review for the Get Loved Up Podcast.
