Jude, the brother of James, is warning the church about those who are constantly trying to destroy the work of Jesus Christ. He said they had crept in unnoticed. They had already been called out in times past. Jude reminds the church, God's people, of their history and how God did not spare them when they turned to false gods. He reminded them of Sodom and Gomorrah, because of their behavior, going after strange flesh. He said many of these men where like, Clouds without water, autumn trees without fruit, casting up their own shame like foam. We are told to keep ourselves in the love of God. To have mercy on those who have fallen away and are struggling. As Christians, we can be such an instrument of change for many people, who otherwise are heading toward destruction and hell.
