Putting our finger on the pulse of society and tackling the Internet's hard-hitting questions, David and I are back with another piping hot slice of advice. -----Wedding Guest Put Off By Cash GrabThe son of a friend is getting married in March. They're both in their 30s and employed. They are planning an expensive wedding, followed by an expensive honeymoon to Thailand, and have established a registry asking for funding for their honeymoon or future home. As we are not interested in contributing to these expenses, would it be appropriate to make a contribution to a charity in honor of their nuptials? Under the circumstances, we plan to save our money by declining the wedding invitation, afraid that a kitty jar might be passed to pay for the ceremony. -----Long Distance Love Lives At HomeI am currently dating a man, "Bobby," who lives two hours away. He owns his own business and pays his own bills BUT he still lives with his parents. Bobby is 43. He stated that there was no reason for him to move out (the business he owns is located on their property). Also, my 16-year-old daughter refuses to acknowledge Bobby. I know she needs adjustment time, but it has been a year since the divorce, which she wholeheartedly wanted and pushed for. I have been dating Bobby for nine months now. Advice on both issues, please...? -----Front Yard Take OverA terrible car accident happened in front of my house a few months ago that resulted in the death of a husband and father. The family comes out every Sunday to place flowers at the accident site, which is my front yard. At first, I had no problem with them expressing their grief and tried to console the widow every time I saw her. The problem is, she has gradually added to the area a memorial stone, an angel statue, vases and some of her husband’s belongings. My front yard is beginning to look like a graveyard — a tacky one. Now she’s asking to place a protective shelter over the site. I don’t know how to respond. -----Dad Kills Dolls To Get Daughter To Wash HandsThere's been a handful of COVID-19 cases in my area and there seems to be very little government effort to slow down the spread. I've been encouraging my kids to wash their hands frequently but my 5 y/o daughter isn't washing her hands enough. I came up with the idea to throw out one of her dolls and tell her it died of the coronavirus. She's pretty upset and my wife said it was a stupid thing to do. I just want to limit the chances of us all catching the disease, especially since I work in a care home. -----Thanks as always for listening and don't forget to share the show with a friend! I'll talk to you again soon. Love ya. Peace. Shout out to our Producer: Sam! Instagram: @oneweirdpodcast Twitter: @oneweirdpodcast Facebook: @oneweirdpodcast
