PensBurgh: for Pittsburgh Penguins fans

Miscellaneous

The Pittsburgh Penguins were riding high one week ago. Their winning streak had reached five games and many were starting to believe that this team, even with their shortcomings, looked like a solid playoff contender. Fast forward to now, and Evgeni Malkin and Teddy Blueger are on IR, the team has lost their last two contests, and we are all waiting with baited breath to see the severity of the injury to Malkin. Should be miss an extended period of time, the Penguins, as they are currently constructed, are doomed. The PensBurgh Podcast poses this question on this week’s episode: how will the Penguins cope without Blueger, Malkin, and Jason Zucker? Will Ron Hextall and company try to weather the storm with what they have or does this injury situation speed up Hextall’s trade plans? In addition to that, the mailbag segment takes us on a unique history lesson through hockey’s evolution, as we discuss how skating equipment and goalie equipment have changed since the sport’s inception. Hooks was flabbergasted by what I had discovered. Don’t forget to support us by rating and subscribing to the podcast on iTunes, Spotify, and Google Play.
