Percy Spender was an Australian diplomat, foreign minister and was a part of the international court of justice and was one of the most global Australians of the 20th century. Spender's life achievements linger distinctively in his 16 months as the external affairs minister he laid the foundation for Australia's modern foreign policy. Spender was the chief architects of the industry and continued to be very influential with setting up the Colombo plan for South East Asia and presented the changing influential relationship between Australia and South East Asia. David Lowe has just released an observant biography on the 'Life of Percy Spender', an exceedingly influential Australian minister from external affairs in the 1950s.
