1 Kings 19:4b-5 He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.”  5  Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. (NIV) 1. Your physical health is a spiritual priority. 3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. (NLT) 1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (NIV) 2. Your physical health is a part of your spiritual worship. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19  Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  20  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (NIV) Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (NIV) 3. Your physical health will affect your spiritual impact. 1 Corinthians 9:25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. (NLT) John 5:6 Do you want to get well (NIV) (Don’t include in the bible app notes – just screens) 1. Eat healthy 1 Corinthians 6:12-13 12  You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.  13  You say, “Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.” (This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies.  (NLT) 2. Rest well Ex 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (NIV) Psalm 127:2 – In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to [a]  those he loves. (NIV) Psalm 127:2 It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest. (TLB) 3. Get some exercise 1 Tim 4:8 Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come." (NLT) 4. Guard your schedule Ephesians 5:15-16 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16  making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. (ESV)
