The Importance of Knowing and Believing The Love that God has for us! Key scripture is 1 John 4:16- And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. I really believe in this time that we are being encouraged by God to truly know and believe the Love that He has for us! That word “know” is from the greek word Ginosko. Ginosko means to be intimately acquainted with. In Luke 1: 31 the angel Gabriel came to Mary and said “Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus.” In v. 34 Mary used the same word that was found in 1 John 4:16 when she said “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?”. That word “know” means to be intimately acquainted with. It is not a casual acquaintance. Mary was still a virgin and had never been intimate with a man. God wants us to be so intimately acquainted with the love that He has for us so that we may have a relationship with Him that does not waver. Jeremiah 31:3 says “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” God draws us to Himself with His love and kindness. Someone said, Love could be explained as wanting the best for someone, and that's exactly what God wants for us! There is no shadow of turning with God. His love is not duplicitous, He is not two faced and He will not change up on us.
