Entrepreneurs often work on something and if they don’t see results as fast as they hoped, they believe that their product is not viable. The next “natural” step for them is to let that go or not focus on it and change what they're doing or move to something else. This is super common. Soon after all the focus has shifted to another product, they start to see action happening with the product that they had abandoned.
