We’re talking about Books That Make You See Them as a Film. Some of the most famed cinematic franchises started out as novels, graphic novels, or comic books. When we encounter a new book with great characters, expansive new worlds and a compelling storyline, we eagerly await the movie. Welcome to DEVASTATION CLASS, by Glen Zipper and Elaine Mongeon. The book’s inspiration came from their love of all things sci-fi, and movies like Alien, The Last Starfighter and Star Wars. With action, twists and Easter eggs, hidden throughout, the novel and the forthcoming sequels of the “Devastation Class” trilogy should no doubt please fans of the genre. Award-winning filmmaker Elaine Mongeon has worked for Warner Bros, Hulu and the Sundance Institute. Glen Zipper is an Oscar-winning producer, and currently works with Netflix and HBO on various projects, including the Netflix series, “Dogs,” recently renewed for a second season.
