I often ask my atheist friends whether they are spiritual and, regardless of the answer, I believe that many of them are. Like many people, I believe that spirituality is more important than being religious and, I posit, more real than "self help". The self help genre has spawned millions of books, CDs, courses, workshops, gurus and God knows what else over the last 150 years but does it work?
